1. Look for Instagram’s email about an address change: it often has a link to undo it. Open it from your mailbox, not from a message received elsewhere.
2. No access: open Instagram’s official hacked-account page and follow the verification.
3. If you still have access: change the password now, to one you use nowhere else.
4. Turn on two-step sign-in (an authenticator app rather than SMS where possible).
5. Sign out the devices and sessions you do not recognise.

Warning: my Instagram account was hacked. If you get a message "from me" asking for money, a code, a vote or to open a link, do not answer and send nothing. I will tell you myself when I have the account back.

The message deliberately has no link and no number.
