COACH EXECUTION CARD

Kettlebell swing

Equipment shown or used: Kettlebell

Age: U18 and seniors only (loaded or high-impact)

Exercise setup and mechanics:

Hinge from the hips with a braced trunk; do not turn this into a shoulder raise.

Conditioning relevance to volleyball:

Supporting general physical capacity relevant to volleyball. Coaching, dosage and exercise selection must be individualized.

Physical conditioning supports an athlete’s capacity. It is not a disguised serve receive, attack, defense or blocking skill.

TRAINING PROGRESSION · 3 LEVELS

Progressive practice without inflating exercise numbers

Move up only when execution meets the quality checks. Real readiness and technique matter more than a nominal age category.

01 · Technique foundation

Learn movement control

Suggested starting dose

2 sets × 5 smooth technique-first repetitions

Rest

90 seconds between sets

Coaching cue

Hinge from the hips with a braced trunk; do not turn this into a shoulder raise.

Quality gate

Explosive action without loss of alignment, controlled movement path and no unsafe release.

02 · Strength / capacity development

Build repeatable capacity

Suggested starting dose

3 sets × 5–6 fast, technically sound repetitions

Rest

2 minutes between sets

Coaching cue

Hinge from the hips with a braced trunk; do not turn this into a shoulder raise.

Quality gate

Explosive action without loss of alignment, controlled movement path and no unsafe release.

03 · Sport-specific workload

Apply controlled sport intensity

Suggested starting dose

3–4 sets × 3–5 explosive repetitions, full recovery

Rest

2–3 minutes between sets

Coaching cue

Hinge from the hips with a braced trunk; do not turn this into a shoulder raise.

Quality gate

Explosive action without loss of alignment, controlled movement path and no unsafe release.

SAFETY & INDIVIDUALIZATION

Quality first, not maximum load

Use a suitable load and clear throwing area; heavy or overhead loaded work requires qualified supervision.

External weights require qualified supervision, safe equipment and confirmed technique. No maximal unsupervised loading for children.

Doses are coaching examples, not individual prescriptions. Adapt for readiness, fatigue, injuries and any relevant medical advice.
