One-step lateral float — Pass-to-attack continuity

Set a receiving lane in zone 1 and feed float serves just outside the receiver's shoulder.

Applied training constraint: After reception, run a set and controlled attack so the target is a usable second contact.

Family mode: use a safe space, reduce intensity and consult a coach to scale technical movements to the child’s age.

01 · Technical focus

One-step lateral float

Move the feet first; avoid reaching with one arm.

02 · Setup and equipment

Set a receiving lane in zone 1 and feed float serves just outside the receiver's shoulder.

Equipment: Volleyballs, Setter target, Floor markers

Starting zone: 1

03 · On-court execution
  1. Set a receiving lane in zone 1 and feed float serves just outside the receiver's shoulder.
  2. After reception, run a set and controlled attack so the target is a usable second contact.
  3. Move the feet first; avoid reaching with one arm.
  4. Log each repetition according to this measure: Count a completed side-out only when reception and attack are both controlled.
04 · Suggested training dose

12 minutes

10 balls in the starting series, with rest adjusted to quality and player level.

05 · Measured success criterion

Count a completed side-out only when reception and attack are both controlled.

Record attempts, success and errors; do not infer progress from volume alone.

06 · Safety and adaptation

Scale workload, speed and distance to ability; stop whenever execution or safety deteriorates.

COURTSIDE TRAINING FEEDBACK
