Practical on-court execution
Starting coaching cues to adapt for player level, squad size and readiness.
Technical / tactical target
Prepare scapular control and shoulder external rotation before serving or attacking.
Court and equipment
Use low resistance or unloaded movement; keep shoulders below pain threshold.
Anchor the band securely and check wear before beginning; choose low tension.
Progressive steps
- Set shoulder blades and keep ribs stacked above the pelvis.
- Rotate the forearm outward with elbow close to the body, slowly.
- Transition to a pain-free, controlled overhead volleyball arm path.
Reacting to an auditory whistle trigger
Start only after the signal, but retain visual ball tracking and a safe stopping distance.
No separately verified photograph exists for this constraint. See the parent setup reference image.
2–3 sets × 8–12 light repetitions per side.
No shoulder shrug, trunk compensation or pain.
No heavy overhead throws as a warm-up; adapt to injury history.
